GaiMonarchy just a week under 3 months old
2011 colt GaiMonarchy is the latest addition to the Capay Valley Arabian herd. He is by GaiMonarcher and out of a Gai Radiant daughter Paradas Radiance. Apart from being a looker he has that wonderful Gainey temperament. Yesterday I gave him a bath with his mommy. I've never seen such a young Arabian love the water like he does. I hosed him all over including his head and it seemed he wanted more. So I showered him again. And he loved it. Couldn't get enough. After the baths I ponied him as I rode his mommy bareback. Again he got it and did great. While this colt has that "look at me spunk" he also shows signs of "train me for whatever you think I am suited and I will oblige". What a boy!

GaiMonarchy is growing a lot. He is surprising us in so many ways. Even in this photo he is showing signs of the color of bay. His is bred to grey parents and we thought for sure he will be a grey. But where I'm used to seeing grey goggles around the eyes he has bey, bey under the flank, bey under the base of the ears, under his dock, on his fetlocks, on his tail dock. I know how much color changes in the first two years so I will wait and observe. At this point I haven't ruled out grey or bey. His double Bey Shah is undoubtedly contributing to the mystery.
